Rain chances come back on Friday and Saturday. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 149 AM CDT Tue Jul 28 2026 Quieter and much drier weather arrives today as winds pick up from the north. Gusts up to 20 to 25 mph at times will help usher in a dry and sunny day as high pressure moves into the region. Temperatures are expected to remain near or above normal today before warm air advection again increases through the middle of the week. High temperatures on Thursday could get back towards the middle to upper 80s and maybe even low 90s, which could produce a few sporadic showers in the afternoon. Still, no widespread active weather is expected until sometime Thursday night into Friday with the next frontal passage. Rain and storms then stick around Friday into early Saturday before some quieter conditions return for the latter half of the weekend. && .AVIATION...for 12Z TAF Issuance Issued at 624 AM CDT Tue Jul 28 2026 Dry conditions are expected through the TAF period. Some lower clouds (IFR/MVFR) will continue to track through the area at times this morning, with clouds expected to clear shortly after TAF issuance. Fog has mainly stayed away from the main TAF sites, and should remain away this morning. Hazy skies are expected much of the TAF period as elevated smoke remains over the region. Light north to north-northeast winds are expected during the TAF period, generally below 10 knots. Winds shift to the northeast across eastern Wisconsin today, gusting to 15 kts, then easing this evening. .KOSH... Dry conditions are expected through the TAF period. A few patches of lower clouds (MVFR) are possible early this morning, with mostly clear skies expected and VFR conditions the rest of the day. Hazy skies are expected much of the TAF period as elevated smoke remains over the region.
