Updated aviation portion for 12Z TAF issuance

.KEY MESSAGES...

- Gusty northerly winds will build waves from 3 to 5 feet on Lake
Michigan south of Two Rivers through this afternoon.

- Quiet conditions expected through Thursday. Rain chances come
  back on Friday and Saturday.

.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 149 AM CDT Tue Jul 28 2026

Quieter and much drier weather arrives today as winds pick up
from the north. Gusts up to 20 to 25 mph at times will help usher
in a dry and sunny day as high pressure moves into the region.
Temperatures are expected to remain near or above normal today
before warm air advection again increases through the middle of
the week. High temperatures on Thursday could get back towards the
middle to upper 80s and maybe even low 90s, which could produce a
few sporadic showers in the afternoon. Still, no widespread
active weather is expected until sometime Thursday night into
Friday with the next frontal passage. Rain and storms then stick
around Friday into early Saturday before some quieter conditions
return for the latter half of the weekend.

.AVIATION...for 12Z TAF Issuance
Issued at 624 AM CDT Tue Jul 28 2026

Dry conditions are expected through the TAF period. Some lower
clouds (IFR/MVFR) will continue to track through the area at
times this morning, with clouds expected to clear shortly after
TAF issuance. Fog has mainly stayed away from the main TAF sites,
and should remain away this morning. Hazy skies are expected much
of the TAF period as elevated smoke remains over the region.

Light north to north-northeast winds are expected during the TAF
period, generally below 10 knots. Winds shift to the northeast
across eastern Wisconsin today, gusting to 15 kts, then easing
this evening.

.KOSH...

Dry conditions are expected through the TAF period. A few patches
of lower clouds (MVFR) are possible early this morning, with
mostly clear skies expected and VFR conditions the rest of the
day. Hazy skies are expected much of the TAF period as elevated
smoke remains over the region. Light N/NNE winds below 10 knots
are expected through tonight, with gusts to 15 kts at times
during the day.

&&

.MARINE...
Issued at 149 AM CDT Tue Jul 28 2026

Gusty northerly winds of 15 to 25 knots today will cause waves to
build to 3 to 5 feet on the Lake Michigan nearshore waters south
of Two Rivers, where a Small Craft Advisory is in effect. Winds
and waves will gradually subside this afternoon as high pressure
builds in from the north.

.GRB WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
